YOUR "VOICE" COUNTS!

On this historical day of 2012 presidential election, one familiar slogan we have heard is "YOUR VOTE COUNTS!" While this is true, a more important truth as Christians is to remember that "YOUR VOICE COUNTS!"  Paul told Timothy in 1 Tim 2:1-3, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. You have a voice in prayer and it needs to be heard!

We have been exhorted to pray for our nation with all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving.  God will use your voice to supplicate for our nation.  Supplication prayers are earnest heart felt prayers that go from our heart to the heart of the Father for our nation.  One way we can supplicate for our nation is found in Luke 10:2, "Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."  We can pray for labourers to be raised up with a voice of holiness to speak to those in national leadership.  Another way to supplicate for our nation is found in Zech 10:1 "Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field."  We can pray for Holy Ghost rain to be poured out with showers of revival to stir the hearts of the people to yield to God.

There will be times God will use our voice in intercession for our nation.  What is intercession?  This is prayer that stands in the gap and pleads mercy for those who should receive judgment.  Romans 8:26 says, "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."  Thank God we have the Helper, the Holy Spirit, Who is the Great Intercessor, who lives on the inside of us and can help us pray the perfect will of the Father.  He is looking for a man to stand in the gap and plead mercy for our nation so He has a legal right to pour out mercy instead of judgment.  As we yield our voice to Him in prayer, He will help us pray out things beyond our understanding.  1 Cor 14:2 says, "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries."  Thank God we can pray the Word, but we can also pray in the Spirit beyond our understanding and know that His perfect will is being accomplished in the United States.

After we sow in tears of heart felt supplications and intercessions, then we can enter into a voice of thanksgiving and praise.  In Heb 13:15 it says, "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."  It is through these sounds of praise that deliverance comes for our nation.  After we pray, we need to remember to thank God that He has heard us and He is making tremendous power available dynamic in its working for the nation!

Remember "YOUR VOICE COUNTS" in 2012!  It is what will make the difference for our nation!
