Creating Virtuous Memories for Mothers and Daughters

One of my goals for my family is to teach my daughters to be Proverbs 31 women.  So years ago the Lord placed in my heart a desire to create virtuous memories for mothers and daughters by teaching them how to be Proverbs 31 women.  My oldest daughter Emily was in 2nd grade and we began  "Proverbs 31 Moms and Daughters."  We would send pretty invitations to all of her close friends and their moms to come to our home and once a month we would create a precious, virtuous memory.
We would begin with a cute icebreaker, teach a short lesson on the character trait for the month, then have a spotlight of honor where the mothers would share honoring words about their daughters in front of their peers.  The event would end with an activity and snack.  It was a precious time of sowing values into the heart of young girls and mothers.  At the end of our time together we would light our candles and recite the acrostic: P for Purity, R for Reverence, O for Obedience, V for Virtue, E for Excellence, R for Respect, B for Beauty, and S for Sweet Servant.  At the end of our 9 months together we would celebrate with a special mother/daughter luncheon where we had a slideshow of our journey together, and presented each daughter with a special treasure box with cute things that would remind of us all we learned.

Over the next eight weeks I am going to contribute these ideas and teachings to hopefully inspire and equip young mothers with material that will create virtuous memories with their daughters in their sphere of influence.  May it be a inspiration to many!
